About this policy

This policy covers the Instaride mobile app, operated by IDEAS IN MOTION GROUP LIMITED. It does not cover our website — that is dealt with in our group privacy policy.

Instaride is a mobility app that connects riders with drivers. It is not yet available to the public. The full detail below — the exact categories of data collected, the providers it is shared with, and the retention periods — will be finalised and published here before the app is released.

We process personal data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the General Application and Implementation Directive 2025 issued by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Who this app is for

Instaride is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger. If we learn that we have, we delete the account and the data.

What we collect, and why

The Instaride app is not yet released. The full list of data it collects, and the purpose for each, will be published here before launch. Until then, if you have a question about Instaride and personal data, contact us at privacy@ideasinmotiongroup.com.

How we collect it

Directly from you when you register, create a listing, send a message or contact support; automatically from your device when you use the app; and from the payment provider when you buy one of our paid services.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers below, each of which is contractually required to protect it and to use it only for the purpose we engaged them for.

Instaride is not yet released and does not yet share data with any third party. The providers it will rely on, what each one receives, and where they process it, will be listed here in full before launch.

We may also disclose personal data to regulators, courts or law enforcement where we are legally required to, and to professional advisers where we need advice.

What other users can see

Some information is public by design. Your seller name, profile photo, the listings you publish and the photographs attached to them are visible to anyone using Instaride. Your email address and your exact address are never shown publicly. Messages are visible only to you and the person you are messaging, except where we need to review them following a report of fraud or abuse.

Where your data is stored

Our servers and database are located in Johannesburg, South Africa. Some of the providers listed above process data outside Nigeria.

Where personal data is transferred outside Nigeria, we rely on contractual safeguards with those providers to maintain a level of protection consistent with the requirements of the NDPA 2023 on cross-border transfers.

How long we keep it

Retention periods for Instaride will be published here before the app is released. They will follow the same principles as our other services: data kept only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as Nigerian law requires.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account in either of two ways, and both delete the same data:

• Inside the app — open your profile, then account settings, then delete account.
• On this website — request deletion of your Instaride account. No sign-in is needed, and you do not need the app installed.

Your account and data are deleted within 30 days of us confirming your identity. The deletion page sets out exactly what is removed and the small amount we are legally required to keep.

Your rights

Under the NDPA 2023 you can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
• delete your personal data;
• restrict how we use it;
• provide it in a portable format;
• stop processing it where we rely on legitimate interests;
• withdraw your consent, where consent is our basis.

Use the data request form or email privacy@ideasinmotiongroup.com. We respond within 30 days, free of charge. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on access-controlled infrastructure. Access is limited to staff who need it. We monitor our systems and apply updates routinely. If a breach occurs that is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify you and the NDPC within the timeframes the law requires.

Notifications and marketing

We send push notifications about your account, your listings and your messages. You can turn these off in your device settings at any time. We do not sell your contact details to anyone for marketing.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the effective date. Where the change is significant we will tell you in the app.
